Dumplings


I hate eating dumplings selling outside but my family and especially me, love my healthy homemade dumplings. You can make these for your love ones or even for ur family. Its pretty easy and today i'm going to blog about the recipe of homemade dumplings. I'm going to start off from NTUC fairprice, which you can get all those ingredients and condiments in there.

What you'll need:

Ingredients you need:

Fresh minced pork

Fish paste

Dumpling skin

Ginger

2 tablespoon of soy sauce

1 egg (do not beat)

Method:

Boil more than half the pot of water together with sliced ginger

While boiling the water, mixed minced pork, fish paste and 2 tablespoon of soy sauce in a big bowl

Mix them till like this

Put a certain amount of the mixture you've alr mixed onto the dumpling skin(you can also add prawn if you like but make sure you wash and shelled). Make sure there's allowance for you to do folding.

Use only egg white to apply on the half semi-circle of the rim like this

Fold into halves

I do not know the traditional steps to fold so i'll do the curry-puffs folding like this. As long as the mixture is wrap securely.


Than continue wrapped the rest of them...
till you finished folding them.

With this temperature of boiling water

Bring all the dumplings to cock at once

Now, beat the leftover egg and add alittle soy sauce, stir.

Spread the beaten egg into the pot to make into egg-flower in chinese

The secret is, the meat must be cooked just right. Let it boil for about 2mins with high heat, be at the side to make sure it's not over-cooked.
The skin should be look like this, served while it's hot.

Q: How to check whether the meat is cooked?
A: Take one of them out and cut into half to see whether its cooked, if not you can try it to double confirm else put back to boil it for awhile more, haha

Q: Will the soup be tasteless?
A: Nope, because ginger is a herb is also known as a spice.


Q: How many servings are there for this set?
A: It depends how much portion you eat, normally it gets very full without rice with 3 servings.
